Neural data

Also known as: Brain data, Neurodata

Information generated by measuring the nervous system. Increasingly treated by law as highly sensitive personal data.

Neural data can reveal health conditions, emotional states, attention and more, sometimes things the person doesn’t consciously know. Colorado, California, Montana and Connecticut now treat it as sensitive data that needs opt-in consent, and the US Congress is considering a study of national standards. See Neurorights.
