Samsung reportedly making Neuralink's next-generation implant chip

Reports say Samsung Foundry is producing a 4-nanometer, fourth-generation Neuralink chip designed to both read and stimulate the brain.

In briefIndustryImplants

Samsung Foundry is reported to have won its first order from Neuralink: a fourth-generation brain-computer interface chip, code-named “O1”, made on Samsung’s 4-nanometer process. According to the reports, initial test chips have been produced and delivery is planned for the first half of 2027. The new chip is said to support two-way communication, both recording and stimulating, unlike earlier versions that mainly read signals.

Neither company has publicly confirmed the details. If accurate, the move to leading-edge chipmaking signals Neuralink’s plans for higher-volume production.
