Boston Scientific to acquire nerve stimulation maker Nalu Medical for $533 million
The deal adds Nalu's miniature, battery-free peripheral nerve stimulator for chronic pain to Boston Scientific's neuromodulation business.
Boston Scientific has agreed to acquire Nalu Medical for about $533 million upfront for the shares it doesn’t already own. Boston Scientific has been an investor since 2017. Nalu makes a peripheral nerve stimulation system for chronic pain with a small implant that has no battery: a wearable powers it wirelessly and a smartphone app controls it. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026.
The acquisition reflects large device companies buying smaller, less invasive neuromodulation technologies to grow their pain portfolios.
