Co-founded by Nicholas Schiff, the company targets the central thalamus in chronic moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury.

ReEmerge has come out of stealth with a $37 million Series A led by U.S. Venture Partners and Santé. Its Cognitive Network Restoration Therapy stimulates the central thalamus, a hub for attention and arousal, to restore function in brain circuits weakened by traumatic brain injury. Co-founder Nicholas Schiff has long studied central thalamic stimulation in people with severe brain injury. A multicenter study of up to 40 patients with chronic moderate-to-severe TBI is planned.

Chronic cognitive problems after TBI affect millions of people and have few treatments.
