Resmed buys Noctrix Health for $340 million to enter restless legs syndrome treatment
Noctrix's Nidra is a wearable that uses nerve stimulation at the lower leg to ease restless legs symptoms and improve sleep.
Sleep-apnea company Resmed has agreed to acquire Noctrix Health for $340 million. Noctrix makes Nidra, an FDA De Novo-authorized wearable that delivers “tonic motor activation”, a form of nerve stimulation at the lower leg, to reduce symptoms of moderate-to-severe restless legs syndrome in adults whose condition isn’t controlled by medication. The deal was announced with Resmed’s April earnings and completed in June.
It marks a large sleep-device maker moving into wearable neuromodulation beyond CPAP.
