Developing Connexus, a high-data-rate implanted BCI with over 400 electrodes, initially aimed at restoring speech.
Paradromics focuses on data bandwidth: the Connexus implant uses many microwires to record from individual neurons at high resolution. It performed a first-in-human recording during an epilepsy surgery in 2025, and in November 2025 received FDA approval to start a clinical trial for speech restoration in people who cannot speak.
