FDA clears Wave Neuroscience's EEG-guided magnetic stimulation for PTSD
MeRT tailors TMS treatment to each patient's EEG; clearance followed a randomized, double-blind multisite trial.
The FDA has cleared Wave Neuroscience’s MeRT (Magnetic EEG-guided Resonance Therapy) for PTSD. MeRT analyzes each patient’s EEG with AI to personalize the settings for magnetic brain stimulation. The company calls it the first personalized, biomarker-guided neuromodulation therapy cleared for PTSD. A double-blind, randomized multisite trial, run with Texas A&M, showed significant reductions in symptom severity.
It is the second PTSD neuromodulation authorization in three weeks, after Neurovalens’ Modius Spero (our coverage).
