Makes Layer 7, an ultra-thin film of 1,024 electrodes that rests on the brain surface and slides in through a small slit in the skull.
Precision’s Layer 7 Cortical Interface is designed to be minimally invasive and removable: it conforms to the brain’s surface rather than penetrating tissue. In 2025 it received FDA 510(k) clearance for temporary use of up to 30 days, a first for a company in the new wave of BCI start-ups.
In September 2026 the company raised a $250 million Series D, bringing total funding to about $430 million, to expand clinical work and prepare for commercialization.
