MEG (magnetoencephalography)

Also known as: Magnetoencephalography, OPM-MEG

Measures the tiny magnetic fields produced by brain activity. Fast like EEG, with better spatial detail.

Traditional MEG needs supercooled sensors in a magnetically shielded room. Newer optically pumped magnetometers (OPMs) work at room temperature and can be worn as a helmet, which may make MEG-based BCIs practical.
